Ongoing scam attempts via SMS and emails
09.01.2024
There are ongoing scam attempts via SMS (text messages) and emails from senders pretending to be the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. Their messages claim the recipient has not paid their AutoPASS road toll charges and ferry journeys.
If you receive such a text message or email, DO NOT open the link and DO NOT pay them anything.
See the pictures below for examples of such scams.

For your information:
SkyttelPASS uses text messages as a method of communication. There may be instances where the Customer has agreed in advance to receive information via text message from SkyttelPASS. SkyttelPASS can also use text messages to remind the Customer of unpaid invoices.
SkyttelPASS will not send links to unidentifiable websites or ask you to disclose personal information via SMS.
A text message from SkyttelPASS regarding non-payment looks like this:
«Hei, har du glemt oss? Faktura XXXXXXX, kr. XXX,XX, KID XXXXXXXXX med forfall XX.XX.XX konto 3633.63.54905 står ubetalt. Mvh SkyttelPASS»
Which translates into:
«Hi, did you forget about us? Invoice xxxxxx, NOK XXX, XX, KID XXXXXXXX due on xx.xx.xx account number 3633.63.54905 is unpaid. Kind regards, SkyttelPASS»
If in doubt, always contact our customer service centre before opening a link or paying.
